1: Welcome and Attendance
Matt Hougan (Chair), Hong Kim (Member), and Hunter Horsley (Member) were present at the meeting.
2: Review and Verify All Data Sources for Uptime, Accuracy, and Robustness
The Bitwise Engineering team confirmed that all data sources were working as expected with regard to uptime, accuracy, and robustness.
3: Review and Approve Any Proposed Changes to the Bitwise Crypto Index Methodology
The Committee discussed and voted 3-0 in favor of adding “III.B.i.j Is not a memecoin” to section III.B.i of the Bitwise Crypto Asset Index Methodology.
The new rule III.B.i.j states: “Is not a memecoin, as determined by the Bitwise Crypto Index Committee.”
The Committee discussed and voted 3-0 in favor of adding “III.B.i.k Supply Curve, Ownership, Usage, Development, and Other Considerations” to section III.B.i of the Bitwise Crypto Asset Index Methodology.
The new rule III.B.i.k states: “The Bitwise Crypto Index Committee may consider additional factors in determining the eligibility of individual crypto assets. These factors may include but are not limited to: supply issuance curves and cliffs, distribution of token ownership, usage or the potential for usage of the service, developer activity, and reputations of key contributors, among other factors.”
4: Review and Approve All Methodological Decisions That Require Judgment
The Committee discussed two methodological decisions that required judgment.
a. Eligible Crypto Asset Trading Venues: The Committee voted unanimously 3-0 to reaffirm the following trading venues as Eligible Crypto Asset Trading Venues for 2025: Bitstamp, Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, BitFlyer, itBit, and LMAX.
b. Eligible Third-Party Custodians: The Committee monitors the landscape of regulated third-party custodians serving U.S. customers. The Committee voted unanimously 3-0 to reaffirm the following list of eligible third-party custodians for 2025: Anchorage, BitGo, Coinbase Custody, Fidelity Digital Assets, and Gemini Custody.
5: Developments Impacting the Market and/or Individual Bitwise Crypto Index Constituents
The Committee discussed a number of developments impacting the market and/or individual Bitwise Crypto Index constituents, including a proposed adjustment to Solana’s token emissions model, Ethereum Foundation leadership changes, strategic purchases made by World Liberty Financial, and the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF filing.
6. Review Expected Changes to the Bitwise Crypto Indexes
The Committee reviewed the expected changes to the Bitwise Crypto Indexes and determined that the reconstitution process is being executed appropriately.
